Written by As you all know I started this page a week ago because I wanted to start measuring the impact of my work in a quantifiable way. I need to let the data guide me throughout the decision making process. So far I am not disappointed. In fact I am extremely encouraged at the results thus far.
My audience has also peaked since my last video. The explosive Velezinee conversation has started to make rounds and this was absolutely intended. At least one friend told me that I was doing it for sensationalism, when I can slowly, build up and audience. In response I can confirm this is true. In marketing circles we call it growth hacking. Getting maximum exposure with minimal effort, thus increasing your reach exponentially. Plus, my current audience on this page is still pretty small, considering i manage monthly 100k audiences in community management on social media for the last 5 to 6 years. So I am basically doing this without breaking a sweat.
Coming back to the numbers, the idea behind making the numbers public is to let my audience understand that there is a hunger and thirst for genuine and honest free speech even if sometimes people don’t agree with what you have to say. The take-away here is that the people will definitely respond to an authentic and genuine voice. Even if it is out of curiosity, just to take a look at what is going on. I can tell you from my side, it’s much harder to be an authentic voice in a cynical world full of haters, doubters and naysayers. So it’s extremely rewarding to see what is happening here now.
I am also realistic about what is happening around my work thus far. While there is an ever growing audience, not a lot of people want to engage with my content. This is a rather obvious when you look at my page at how little comments I have generated with my content. Not a lot of people want to comment at the moment. There is an obvious hesitancy and something is holding them back. Off the top of my head as to why this is – it could be for a couple of reasons. I will try and detail them below as much as possible as I understand them.
I am irreligious and people don’t want to be associated with someone like me even if we agree on the substance of the said discussion. Whats happening here now with this project is new and at this stage no one knows how this will be perceived on a public level. As a result are hesitant to associate with me – for the time being. I get that. To you I say, forget what others might say and try to put aside our differences on ideology and focus on the issues. We can do so much more together on the things we agree on than fighting over the things we don’t agree on. Live and let live.
People are uncertain about my intentions, are afraid to make my content go viral by engaging, fearing any possible ulterior motive on my part. You can’t blame them for feeling that way because of the level of consistent dishonesty at the public discussion level. In response I will let my work speak for itself. You decide at your own rational deduction what I intend to do by going through my content yourself. My work is transparent allowing you to judge for yourself. Don’t be influenced by what others say. Don’t be sheep, be strong independent thinking people. We have a lot of work in front of us and being stuck with the wrong herd doesn’t help any of us. Be on the right side of history.
Anyhow… lets see how this continues forward. All this work is an extremely long play. Only time will tell how things will work out. Meanwhile, I will let the data speak for itself. Check it out.
